Vicente Del Bosque: Messi should have been given the Golden Ball award

Spain National team coach Vicente Del Bosque said that Lionel Messi deserved the Golden Ball more than Diego Forlan.

Del Bosque who led Spanish team get win their first World Cup said that he would have liked if it was some of his players, but if not, it should have been given to Lionel Messi for his performance in World Cup.

Apart from our own, I preferred Messi. Each game he played he made 20 chances to score, he is a phenomenon.

We would have liked it to have been one of us. Messi deserves the Golden Ball more than Forlan.

Diego Forlan who won the Golden Ball in the World Cup for his 5 goals at World Cup. Even though Messi was awesome in World Cup, he didnt score a single goal which is the main reason for him to not win the Golden Ball. Diego Forlan scored some amazing goal, free kick against Ghana, long distance goal against Netherland and another amazing goal against Germany and he truely deserved it.

But winning World Cup at Brazil for Argentina would be an amazing achievement for Lionel Messi. Lets hope World Cup 2014 goes to Messi

He is joking right? Messi might got many chance to score against weak team, he got almost no chance against team like German. Is all matter of perform what it matter.

Well actually you needed a team game rather than individual player showing their talent against well organized German. Messi could have destroyed them, if he would have received support from his teammates and rather than going back to collect the ball and then attacking from a place, where everyone is ready to face him or tackle him down.
