Lionel Messi – The FIFA Player of the year 2009
Finally, a award that everyone has been waiting for a long time. Lionel Messi has won the FIFA Player of the year 2009 award tonight at Zurich. An award which will make him the first Argentine to win the awards.
Lionel Messi who was third in 2007, then came second in 2008 and now hit the jackpot in 2009, which truely shows the progress that Lionel Messi have made in this last three years and also not to forget that he is just 22 years old.
Lionel Messi was also selected for the FIFPro World XI with 4 Barcelona players finding a place in the FIFPro World XI team. Iniesta, Xavi and Dani Alves were the other Barcelona player who were also a part of FIFPro World XI team.
A great night for Messi and Barcelona fans, who would be proud after what Barcelona have achieve this year and would be ready for an another great year.

Messi receives Club World Cup Golden Ball Award
Leo Messi have added yet another award after receiving the Golden Ball award for this two superb goal and being the match winner in Club World Cup.
A man who was in doubt for Club World Cup manage to win the Golder Ball Award is simply amazing. Scoring two important goal in both matches, but I also believed that Pedro should have atleast given some award as he also scored two goal and the second goal was the most important goal.
Veron received the Silver Ball and Xavi received the Bronze Ball. Barcelona finished the year with six cups and what an amazing year for Pep Guardiola who was unable to stop his tears for creating a history for Barcelona and everyone will remember him as he have done this in his first year as Manager.

Lionel Messi picks up Ballon D’or for the year 2009
Lionel Messi have finally been handed the Ballon D’or for the year 2009 and it was an excited and memorable day for Lionel Messi, who flew to France to take the award after showing his superb performance last night against Deportivo at Raizor but even after being tired Leo Messi could not stop smiling . It was just Lionel Messi day who was accompanied by his two brothers and sister.
The big moment arrived at 11:00 am when Messi was given the awards during the top TF1 programme ‘Telefoot’ and at the end of the show he took some time to sign autograph and take photographs with audience and his family.
Once the award ceremony was over, Lionel Messi went over to the TF1 central studios where he gave a press conference in front of a multitude of journalists and media representatives. After a few personal interviews, Messi went back to the Hotel for a celebratory lunch with the event organisers.
Messi was then on his way to airport to fly back to Barcelona with Ballon D’or in his hand

Lionel Messi wins Ballon D’or 2009
Atlast the moment arrive for Lionel Messi who won Ballon D’or 2009 for his wonderful performance for the year 2009. Leo Messi have been voted the best player of 2009 by 473 votes and Lionel Messi is also the first Argentine to win Ballon D’or award.
Messi received 473 votes and the other players who were nominated didnt even manage to cross the 300 mark. Lionel Messi beat Cristiano Ronaldo by 240 points, and it shows that no one could be even compare to Lionel Messi performance in which he scored 9 goals in Champions League, 6 goals in Copa Del Rey and 23 goals in Spanish League.
Nobody have ever received so much votes since the French magazine opened the award to cover all domestic leagues three year ago. In 2007, Kaka received 444 votes and last year Cristiano Ronaldo received 446 votes. Lionel Messi is also the first player from Barcelona youth system to win Ballon D’Or.
Strange thing is Leo was third in 2007, second in 2008 and first in 2009 and I hope he continue to be in the top position for the rest of his life 
and same is going to be the case in FIFA Player of the year awards
